If you want to feel strong and courageous, while increasing your bounce back ability then try this.

Just because you see someone on stage or you have a best friend who seems to have it all figured out. One thing I can promise you is life hits hard and it hits everyone. It hits when you least expect it, it is relentless if you let it, but it is also beautiful. Because at the bottom of all the pain there is a lesson and with that lesson comes growth. There is a comment made to me many years ago by a  very wise man. He told me that he was amazed at my strength in the face of adversity and in many ways jealous of it, but he did not envy how I learned that talent. It put things in perspective, from hardship came a talent, a skill, a lesson that I now share with hundreds of people to help change their lives. So would I do it all again? Of course. Once you realise you would travel the same path it doesn’t feel like it has any power to knock you down.

Here is an affirmation to keep you mentally tough.


I am proud of my mental toughness. I feel that I can weather any resistance in the pursuit of my goals. Life can be challenging and sometimes delivers significant obstacles, but I am able to overcome them.

I am known for my grit. People view me as someone who never gives up. I enjoy living up to this reputation. I take great pride in being the toughest person I know.

I know how to persevere. I am able to manage my emotions well and stay focused on the end result I desire. I can persist longer than any obstacle.

I can outlast anyone. I have the endurance to be the last person standing. Everyone else quits before I do. That is just the way I like it.

I like to conceal my toughness with a smile. I can be tough and still be happy and pleasant.

I am learning to be even tougher. I use every obstacle in my daily life as practice. I determine what I am going to do, and then I do it. Each obstacle I overcome adds directly to my mental toughness and stamina.

Today, I feel especially strong, courageous, and disciplined. I am using my toughness to my advantage. I can bend my circumstances to my will.

If you haven’t used affirmations before there is no right way or wrong way to get started. Whether you print them out and read when you like or record them into your phone and listen to them up to 3 times a day, so long as you connect with the affirmation then you are on your way to mastering it. You can also choose an inanimate object that symbolises the concept for you and carry it with you in the day, or add something meaningful to your vision board. You can use this affirmation as part of your meditation. Some people just like to use them as talking points with their friends or inspire them to make wallpapers to share on social media. Whatever feels right, is what was intended for you now you have found your affirmation, so have fun with it.
