Riverside Dining at The Ivy Tower Bridge

A Taste Of London

Riverside location and views of the iconic Tower Bridge and Tower of London

Situated right on the banks of the River Thames at One Tower Bridge, The Ivy Tower Bridge offers sophisticated and friendly all-day dining to Londoners and tourists alike.

Making the most of its riverside location and views of the iconic Tower Bridge and Tower of London, The Ivy Tower Bridge makes an ideal spot in which to relax after a walk down the river, enjoying its many attractions and landmarks.

With More London Riverside and City Hall located next door, The Ivy Tower Bridge is perfectly placed to cater to both local business and residents offering them the usual Ivy classics such as Eggs Benedict for the perfect breakfast or weekend brunch.

With interiors designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, the two-storey restaurant offers guests the choice of dining in the restaurant while enjoying river views through floor to ceiling glass windows.

On warmer days or sheltered under the patio heating, guests can dine outside on the Parisian-style al fresco terrace which seats 50 and directly overlooks the River Thames.

Open seven days a week, The Ivy Tower Bridge features an all-encompassing menu, serving modern British classics from dawn until dusk, including breakfast, elevenses, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, light snacks, dinner and cocktails.

The kitchen is overseen by Executive Chef Sean Burbidge, whilst the restaurant’s affordable menus incorporate a selection of Ivy classics, including shepherd’s pie, brioche crumbled chicken Milanese and the sumptuous strawberry ice cream sundae with vanilla ice cream, meringue and shortbread.

The Ivy Tower Bridge resides within Berkeley Homes’ luxury One Tower Bridge development, featuring high specification apartments, commercial and cultural spaces.

The Ivy Collection is a group of restaurants, brasseries and cafés established in London, originating with The Ivy, West Street 100 years ago, and offering accessible, all-day dining in a relaxed, local setting.

Arrival at The Ivy Tower Bridge is a picturesque affair and such a special treat seeing the lights of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. We were seated by the window with a fantastic riverside view in anticipation of an experience that was sure to please.  To begin, we tried the truffle arancini to whet our appetite which consisted of fried Arborio rice balls with truffle and parmesan.

For the starter, the meal opened with the Atlantic sea scallops with Truffle risoni, shaved Parmesan, black truffle and sweet potato crisps. This dish was an absolute favourite and made a great first impression. The scallops were perfectly cooked and tasted exquisite. The truffle risoni added a different dimension to the dish and was a refreshing break from the more traditional way of serving scallops.

My dining companion had the Smoked salmon and crab dish with flavourful Oak smoked salmon, crab and dill cream with rye soda bread. The combination and freshness of the flavours made for a pleasing dish.

Continuing to the mains,  l had the Blackened cod fillet, which was baked in a banana leaf with baby pak choi, shaved radish, toasted sesame and yuzu mayonnaise. The dish was a delightful surprise. The soft texture and balanced flavours of the fish worked well on the palate.

The Truffle and Parmesan chips were a fun addition to the dish – not too crispy with generous seasoning of truffle and Parmesan.

My dining companion had the Dry aged British rib-eye which came as requested medium rare and was accompanied by a red wine and rosemary sauce.

We finished the meal with a theatrical flourish for dessert with the Chocolate Bombe. The dessert was served with hot salted caramel sauce which is poured over the top of the chocolate dome,  melting the outside of the bombe to reveal it’s vanilla ice cream and honeycomb centre. The pleasant surprise of this sweet treat was the honeycomb and popping candy which left one reminiscing of childhood days wanting to go back for more.

With its stunning views of iconic London landmarks together with a crowd pleasing menu and excellent service from the front of house team, The Ivy Tower Bridge is definitely worth a visit for Riverside dining that stands out from the rest.
